Last Call for Papers for the 58TH ANNUAL UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM
Sponsored by The New York Chemistry Students’ Association of the American Chemical Society’s New York Section. The symposium provides an excellent opportunity for undergraduate chemistry students in the NY metropolitan area to present the results of their research. The program includes a keynote address by a Adelphi University graduate, Dr. Jack Kaye, of Associate Director for Research, Earth Science Division, NASA, speaking on ” Chemistry, Climate, and Satellites: How Chemistry Helps us Observe and Understand Earth’s Changing Climate”, presentation of student papers, followed by a luncheon. This year, we will include poster presentations as well as oral presentations.

In order to receive the advanced registration benefits, checks need to be received by April 21, 2010. Early registration fee (Deadline April 12th): Mentors – free; Guests – $15. On site registration fees: Mentors – $30; Guests – $30It is my pleasure to announce the call for abstracts for the 2010 Columbia Undergraduate Research Symposium, taking place on March 28. The symposium is sponsored by the Columbia Undergraduate Science Journal and is open to undergraduate students at tri-state-area universities who have conducted original and significant scientific research. Accepted abstracts will be selected for either talks or poster presentations, and all abstracts will be published and archived online.The recommended deadline for abstract submission is February 21, and the final deadline is February 28. Participants will be notified regarding their presentation type by March 8. The symposium will take place on Sunday, March 28, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Roone Arledge Auditorium of Lerner Hall on Columbia University’s Morningside Campus (Map: http://www.columbia.edu/about_
