Interested in Working in New York City Public Schools?

Shannon Waite, Human Resources Manager from the NYC Department of Education, will be on campus to walk NYU students through the process of applying and interviewing for positions in elementary, middle and high schools throughout the city. If you are graduating in 2009 and plan to teach in NYC – it is highly recommended that you attend this session.

Come to the New York University Graduate & Professional School Fair next week on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 from 3pm – 7p.m. in the Kimmel Center for University Life, to talk about opportunities for PhD,  MD/PhD, and Summer Research in the biomedical sciences.  Look for the Albert Einstein table!

The first meeting of Fall 2008 will be on Wednesday, September 24th at 12:30PM until 1:30PM. The meeting will introduce the officers and the community service ventures for this semester. The meeting will include a pizza lunch as well as a fun documentary viewing after opening words. The documentary will be an episode of the Discovery Channel show, Mythbusters. Please note: If you have a lab or class that conflicts with part of the meeting, don’t feel like you can’t attend the meeting if you need to leave early or will be late. You’re welcome to join us, regardless of how long you can stay.

This Thursday, May 1st, we will hold the last Draper meeting of the semester.
12:30-1:30 in Room 808, we will be holding official elections for the coming year. You’ll get a chance to hear from the nominees, ask them questions, and then vote!
And in typical Draper fashion, pizza for everyone!

Dear Class of 2009 Graduates:

Fall will be here before you know it! If you plan on finding a job after graduation, the early stages of your job search process should begin now. This email contains lots of important information. Please read through the details thoroughly.

Many industries start recruiting Class of 2009 graduates in August. That means that it is time to register for the On-Campus Recruitment (OCR) program. To participate in the On-Campus Recruitment Program and to apply for jobs through NYU InterviewNet, there are 3 requirements:

We will be having a meeting this coming Thursday (3/27) to discuss opportunities to get involved in our community service efforts, tutoring and helping local high schools in the sciences. The meeting is as usual in Silver 808 at 12:30 pm. Pizza (with toppings!) and soda a plenty.

If you cannot make the meeting, but are interested in getting involved, please e-mail Garrett Lew at garrett@drapersociety.org. We will be sending out a description of the volunteer work following Thursday’s meeting for those interested in more details. We would love all the help we can get, this is a great opportunity and a wonderful service we can provide as top-notch science students.
