ACS National Chemistry Week 2009

The Draper Chemical Society has an annual tradition of participating in the ACS National Chemistry Week (NCW) Celebration at the NY Hall of Science in Queens.  The NCW Celebration brings together students from colleges in the New York City area to perform simple experiments (provided by Draper Society) for children and their parents.  The NYU students who participate always have a lot of fun, and to sweeten the deal, volunteers receive free admission to the NY Hall of Science, so you can spend time exploring before or after your shift.

This year’s event will take place on Saturday, 10/24/09.  We will need volunteers to work one or more of the following shifts at the NYU table:

Shift 1 = 9-11 AM
Shift 2 = 11 AM-1 PM
Shift 3 = 1-3 PM
Shift 4 = 3-5 PM

Do you wish you could read for pleasure, but think you’re too busy?

Do you know you should be reading your textbook, but don’t have the time?

Do you want to score better on the reading comprehension part of that standardized test?

At the clinic you will learn how fast you learn, how to read faster, and be taught how to improve your reading comprehension skills.  The workshop will be informal and relaxed, but useful and educational as well!

Please register for the class using the following link:

The workshop sponsored by Draper is the first one listed.
