Federal Agency Looking For Fall Chemistry Intern Monday, September 22, 2008
Posted by Garrett Lew in : Announcements, Jobs , trackbackThe National Association For Equal Opportunity in Higher Education (NAFEO) is the umbrella organization for Historically and Predominantly Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU’s) –(you can find out more about it at www.nafeo.org) They have an internship program where they currently partner with federal agencies in Washington DC and provide internship opportunities for students from Their member organization. They have run into a unique situation where one of the Agencies has an office in Jamaica New York and they can not provide a student from our institutions to fill that position (most of our members are located in the South, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and Southwest regions).
The Senior Programs Manager, Lamont Clark, is reaching out to New York institutions in order to see if they can fulfill the request of this agency.
The government agency is the Food and Drug Administration, and they are seeking a Chemistry or Bio-Chemistry major to work in their Jamaica NY facility. This is a PAID internship opportunity. The criteria they are looking for is as follows…
African American, Chemistry or Biochemistry Major. Basic Laboratory skills desired: Ability to use volumetric glassware, analytical balances, pH meter, and other small lab equipment. A basic algebraic math skill is important.
